Based near the beautiful and historical City of Winchester in Hampshire. Rachel Niddrie has been in the interior design industry since 1999, creating bespoke interiors for both commercial and private residential projects.
Having studied at Chelsea College of Art & Design, Rachel began her design career working on the New Kings Road working for a bespoke furniture company. Rachel went on to become an Interior design assistant and project manager to the late Lady Victoria Waymouth at her Chelsea Interiors Shop on Old Church Street, where the eclectic mix of combining styles from around the world was considered pioneered. During that time Rachel was involved in the decoration of a number of bedrooms and suites at the prestigious Claridges Hotel, a Chateau in Switzerland, a 4 bedroom house in the South of France, villas in Kuwait and various residential projects throughout Belgravia, Chelsea and Notting Hill. |
Rachel set up her first design studio in Chelsea between 2004-2011, partnered with specialist decorator Carolyn Benson, where they worked on various residential projects throughout Notting hill, Chelsea, Belgravia, the Home Counties and the Middle East. The overall look was elegant, shabby chic with antiques from Pimlico Road and Gloucestershire, bespoke silk and linen, embroidered and printed fabrics and specialist decorating detailing . Together they were named in House & Gardens leading 100 designers as well as featuring in the book 'Spectacular Homes of London'.
Subsequently, Rachel worked for the interior design arm of a well established property developers and has been featured in the Andrew Martin Design Review, where she worked on both traditional and contemporary projects for clients in London and overseas.
Rachel has taken and developed this invaluable background and now leads and co-participates in various traditional and contemporary interior design projects for private clients, property developers, architects and interior designers on residential projects, hotels, executive offices and restaurants.
